This past week we were fortunate enough to be invited to a meeting hosted by Allergan, the manufacturer of the LAP-BAND® AP System, and attended by some of the most incredible people- all of us out to support our lap band community.  Besides Gloria and myself representing Banded Living:

• Alex the founder of LapbandTalk;
• Bo, the COO of Obesity Help;
• Joe the president of Obesity Action Coalition;
• Yvonne, aka Bariatric Girl;
• Susan, founder of Band2gether;
• Karin aka Lap Band Gal;
• Wendy, aka Banded Wendy;
• Amy of Once Upon On A Time In The Land Of Cheese And Sunkist;

All shared what we do and how we can all work together to support the lap band community.

Each of us did a presentation on our blogs/sites/YouTube channels and shared our missions and our goals for today as well as our visions for tomorrow.  The theme that followed across each and every presentation was that we all want to support our community any way we can as well as educating the public and advocating for obesity treatments being available to all who need it.

The first five minutes may have been a little awkward as we each found our seats, looked around us and came to the realization that we were not in competition, but rather in cooperation with each other.  That's really all it took and the next hours were more of a share fest as we figured out how to best serve all of you, all of us to make our joint community stronger and provide education, advocacy and support for all of us who fight the battle with obesity on a daily basis.  Great things are happening.
