What’s on your plate for long term Weight Loss Surgery SuccessMemorial Day has come and gone.  If you’re old school you can now break out your white shoes (LOL), and open your barbecues and start grilling.  I live in California so my grill is active all year.  It’s the side dishes that vary with the season.  I love coleslaw and have played with different recipes over the years, and tried different low calorie coleslaw dressing substitutions and now I found one that works for me.  Perhaps it will work for you too.

It has flavor, is made from a yogurt base and takes about 5 minutes to whip up a bowl of deliciousness to serve on the side of your burgers, steaks, fish, ribs, or whatever you are tossing on the grill for dinner tonight.  The nice part for me is that if I have the family or friends, or friends and family coming over I can make this ahead of time and spend more time chatting and visiting.

It’s simple and here is what I mixed up today for 10 weight loss surgery size portions (about ½ cup) at 40 calories, 1.1 grams protein, and 4.9 grams carbs per serving:

OK - even those of you who say you can’t cook can handle this.  Get yourself some chicken or turkey burgers from your Trader Joes, Costco, or your favorite grocery store, throw them on the grill, serve with a side of coleslaw and Voila!!!  - it’s a quick, tasty and healthy meal for everyone!

Oh, by the way, one of the reasons I love coleslaw besides the taste and textures is because I can only eat a small amount because of the high fiber content and my weight loss surgery.  That way I get all the taste and am in control of my nutrition.
