Many of you know that I recently returned from the 2014 WLSFA Sand & Sea Meet & Greet which was 3 days on land in Tampa, FL and then 5 days at sea on the Royal Caribbean Brilliance of the Seas.  I left my house Wednesday April 2nd, and did not return until almost midnight on Saturday April 12th.  That’s a long time away and every moment of it was busy.  The Non Scale Victories (NSV’s) just kept coming the entire 11 days and I think it’s time to share them with you all.

First of all the ONLY days I did not work out were the day I left CA, the day I boarded the ship, and the day I flew home.  Every other day had me either in the pool, the gym, or the ocean.  NSV numbers 1 - 8.

Next, at the hotel pool I just jumped out of my cover up and into the water without even the briefest thought of - Oh MY!  Someone is going to see my thighs…guess what- they are all shrinkly and will stay that way and if you don’t like them, turn your head….NSV number 9.

During the event I was out and about and introducing myself to folks I didn’t know, and saying hello to absolutely everyone.  NSV number 10…no hiding out in crowds any more for this gal.

Pirate Costume Party night came and I was out there (I mean really out there) in my corset and loving every minute of strutting my stuff at the age of 65.  NSV number 11 for sure.

Now off to board the ship and head out to sea.  Got packed back up and ready to go on time and was raring to go instead of exhausted…LOL…NSV # 12?  You tell me

Having a blast on board ship.  Wearing clothes that I bought 3 years ago as well as new ones.  Clothes still fitting is certainly NSV#13 - everything in my closet is the same size it has been for YEARS….The only drawback - it puts a kink on shopping for new since I have almost run out of closet space in my house.  LOL

Sunning myself and not worrying about my body again and speaking up to anyone who is not a part of our group of about 100 peeps and telling them about Weight Loss Surgery, my life, the WLSFA, and how we save lives.  NSV#14

Taking a group shot with the most amazing people, all dressed to the nines for formal night…not necessarily an NSV but fun for sure….

Snorkeling in Cozumel….First being able to get my fins on by myself and jumping (Giant Step) right into the water from the catamaran…..Then being able to climb the ladder back up on to the catamaran without help, heck I actually stayed down and helped others get up.  I was limber and able to get my fins off in the water, pass them up to the crew and then help folks get that first step on to the ladder while the ocean surged  That sense of FREEDOM alone was worth all of the work I have done for the past 10 years.  NSV #15, 16 and 17.  Then being able to do it all again at the second reef.  NSV # 18.

Enjoying getting dressed up a bit each night on board and not worrying about make-up or hair each day.  NSV #19, 20.

Meeting and making new friends who I hope to see, not only on Facebook, but at next year’s event(s) was priceless.

The WLSFA Happy CrewStay tuned as we get ready to announce the date and location of WLSFA 2015 Meet & Greet.  If you have not already, please like our group page at https://www.facebook.com/WLSFA, and help us start saving lives, one grant at a time.

Enjoying good works. Having fun at the Meet and Greet
