My Big Fat Greek Turkey Burger
These burgers get your protein and your veggies all in one bite, no fat involved. Grill them or broil them or cook them in a pan stove-top. Any way you make them they are delish.
Ingredients:
- 1 pound Ground Turkey
- 10 ounces Fresh Spinach, Chopped
- 1/4 cup Egg Substitute
- 1/4 cup Panko Bread Crumbs
- 1/2 Onion, Chopped
- 2 Cloves Garlic, Chopped
- 1 teaspoon Nutmeg, Ground
- 1/2 teaspoon Sea Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Fresh Ground Pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon Fresh Ground Lemon Pepper
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
- 1 teaspoon Oregano
Directions:
- Spray a pan with olive oil spray and head to medium on the stove
- Add the chopped onion and sauté for 3 minutes
- Add the garlic, mix and cook for another 2 minutes
- Add the spinach, mix and cook for 3 minutes
- Mix in the salt, pepper and nutmeg
- Remove to a mixing bowl and allow to cool (I put it in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes)
- Add the ground turkey, Panko bread crumbs, egg substitute and the remaining seasonings. Mix well
- Form into 4 patties and chill for at least 10 minutes in the refrigerator (this helps the patties stay together on the grill)
- Grill on medium heat or in the pan on your stove, or broil for about 5-6 minutes per side turning once. Internal temperature should be around 165 degrees.
- Serve hot
