Choice - Long Term WLS SuccessToday I had a choice - I woke up with a stuffy head, a little dizzy and wanted to crawl back under the covers - I could do that; instead I chose to get up, get dressed and get myself to the gym.  I feel better, not 100% but definitely better.  I chose ME.

Choice - Long Term WLS SuccessToday I had a choice - When I am under the weather I crave comfort foods.  Mine are sweets, crunchy salty things, basically anything loaded with calories that are pretty much empty - I could stop for a donut; instead I chose to have my pre-made egg dish loaded with protein.  I chose ME.

Choice - Long Term WLS SuccessToday I had a choice - I could stop at the coffee shop and have some fru-fru coffee drink to “wake” myself up more - I could do that; instead I chose to drink my water.  I chose ME.

Choice - Long Term WLS SuccessToday I had a choice - I could blow off cooking and go out for dinner - I could do that; instead I chose to make what I had planned.  It only took 10 minutes to toss it together and I had cod in basil pesto sauce and fresh green beans and garlic.  I chose ME.

Choice - Long Term WLS SuccessToday I had a choice - I could sit and worry about everything that was not flowing smoothly in my life - I could do that; instead I chose to look at what I had on my agenda to get done and just started the actions needed to make things happen.  I chose ME.

Today I had a choice - I could work at the computer and eat my lunch while working - I could do that; instead I chose to sit outside and enjoy the sun and the breeze and my yard for 15 minutes.  I chose ME.

You see the theme - this journey, my long term success is all about choosing ME over everything else that might get in the way.  I’m not perfect at it.  Sometimes I choose the comfort food, the coffee drink, being lazy and going out to a restaurant, worrying needlessly about things I can’t control, eating at my desk.  That’s the nature of human beings.  We are constant works in progress and NOT perfect.  How do I maintain my long term success?  It’s really quite simple- I make as many choices as I can each day for ME, my health and my well being.  If a make a choice that doesn’t serve me well I simply look ahead and make the next choice for ME.

What do you choose?
