Turkey Burgers Italian Style
Sauce, cheese, turkey, cheese, garlic and onions, spices, oh and more cheese. Who needs pasta?
Ingredients:
- 1 pound Ground Turkey
- 1 Egg
- 3 tablespoons Grated Parmesan
- 1/2 cup Trader Joe's Rustico Sauce For Inside Burger
- 1/2 cup Trader Joe's Rustico Sauce For Topping
- 8 Slices Low Fat Mozzarella Cheese For Topping
- 1 cup Baby Spinach, Chopped
- 1/2 cup Panko Bread Crumbs
- 3 ounces Crimini Mushrooms Chopped
- 1/2 cup Fat Free Ricotta Cheese
- 1/2 Onion, Chopped
- 2 tablespoons Sun Dried Tomatoes, Chopped
- 1 Clove Garlic, Minced
- 1 teaspoon Oregano
Directions:
- In a large bowl mix all ingredients (with the exception of the toppings) together thoroughly
- Using your hands separate into 6 equal meatballs
- Flatten to make burgers and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes for everything to “bind” together
- In a large skillet sprayed with non stick spray heated to medium high place the burgers and cook for about 4 minutes
- Flip and cook for 2 minutes more. Place 1 slice lite mozzarella and 1 tablespoon Rustico sauce on each burger and continue cooking for 2 more minutes or until cheese melts
- Serve and enjoy
