I’ve had my REALIZE band for approximately 15 years. I was my doctors biggest success band patient (didn’t lose the most pounds) but fell UNDER my BMI! I was told “no more fills for you” I asked why? I still saw a fat girl staring back at me in the mirror at 114 lbs on my 5’5″ frame. I have now ballooned to 143lbs and my cholesterol is high. 🙁 BIG disappointment! I want to get back down to 125 (a good weight for me) but can’t figure out how to do it. I drink nothing but water and black coffee, except on weekends I allow myself French Vanilla Creamer in moderation. My downfall is my sweet tooth and I’m completely aware of it. I can’t eat bread….makes me throw up….I don’t do well with any kind of meat other than chicken or fish. But cookies, ice cream and chocolate go down just fine! OKAY, I know that was a big part of the regain. Before surgery I was a whopping 189lbs. I lost down to 104lbs (Divorce Diet) then stayed at 114 for quite sometime. Now I’m 143 and not happy about it at all. I work a desk job and try to eat healthy snacks Hummus/Low-Fat Wheat Thins ( A serving 16 crackers). This weight gain isn’t budging! I need help!!! Please!!! I’m so disappointed in myself! Any suggestions???

Hi Kellie- You have given me alot of information with which I can help you IF you are ready for help. Regain is not unusual…no more fills may just mean you have all the fluid that is recommended for your band. Remember- this is not about restriction, it’s about hunger and satiety- physical hunger and satiety and your choices tell me that it’s not physical hunger that is driving you to cookies, etc. I have a great class that begins Wednesday march 14th at 5PM pacific time for 6 Wednesday evenings called Back on Track – Here
s a link to the web site that describes it. Be sure to message me or email me at sandi@bandedliving.com with any questions. Here’s the link to Back on Track – back on track class
